As the June Lake Loop Trail to Yost Creek Trail possesses a notable elevation incline compared to its length, it is rated as moderate and is therefore likely not appropriate for beginner hikers and families with young children. Having arrived at the trailhead, follow the June Lake Loop Trail heading south over steadily inclining terrain. The June Lake Loop Trail is rather steep at first but will eventually mellow out as the incline becomes more gradual. Approximately halfway through the route, you will arrive at a junction within the trail. At the junction, continue on along June Lake Loop Trail as it makes its way south.
The elevation will begin to decline somewhat, and - after a few hundred feet - the route will deliver you to Yost Meadow. Once you've arrived at the scenic meadow, take some time to explore and perhaps stop for a picnic before backtracking your steps towards the trailhead and your waiting vehicle.
