    The Binsey Trail is a short, family-friendly walking route that will take you up a small hill for beautiful Lake District views. While at the summit viewpoint, you will enjoy sweeping views of nearby fells, as well as the blue expanse of Bassenthwaite Lake. With an easy-to-navigate trail that is well-maintained and only features a small amount of elevation gain, this route is perfectly suited for a fun family adventure.

    Route Description for Binsey Trail

    Although it is very short, the views from the top of the Binsey Trail - in addition to its easy difficulty - make this walk a perfect outing for a fun family weekend. The trail sets out from the side of the road and climbs the open terrain to the northwest until you reach the summit viewpoint atop Binsey. From here, you will have an amazing view of Bassenthwaite Lake, as well as nearby fells that include Skiddaw, High Pike, and Bakestall. After taking in the sights, follow the same trail back to return to your vehicle.

    Getting to the Binsey Trail Trailhead

    To reach the trailhead for the Binsey Trail from Keswick, drive northwest on A591 for 10.6 km and turn right to continue on for another 3.4 km. Make a slight left, followed by another left in 95 m to find parking on the left side of the road.
