Latrigg from Keswick

The Latrigg from Keswick Walk is a lovely adventure that will take you from the heart of town to a stunning viewpoint overlooking the Lake District. From the top of the trail, you will have a panoramic sightline of numerous fells like Skiddaw and Blencathra, in addition to some beautiful views of Derwent Water and Keswick itself. While the views may be spectacular, the trail isn’t anything overly difficult, making this walk suitable for casual and experienced walkers alike.

Route Description for Latrigg from Keswick
The route up Latrigg from Keswick is a great activity in the Lake District if you find yourself in the heart of the town with a desire for some pleasant summit views. The trail begins near Lower Fitz Park in Keswick and heads north to traverse the lower slopes of Latrigg along the edge of Bruntholm Wood. Reaching the backside of the hill, the trail will turn to the south to take you up to the summit viewpoint, where you will enjoy a spectacular view overlooking Keswick and Derwent Water to the southwest, as well as a vast sea of rugged mountain peaks to the north. From here, you will make your way east along the hilltop and descend the hillside, before following the River Greta to the west to return to Keswick.
Getting to the Latrigg from Keswick Trailhead
To get to the Latrigg from Keswick trailhead from the centre of the town, head southeast on Main Street for 0.5 km and turn left onto Station Street, following it for another 0.3 km. Make a right onto Brundholme Road and continue on for 0.5 km, taking the first exit at the roundabout onto Station Avenue. You will arrive at the trailhead in 61 m.
