Tilberthwaite and Little Langdale Circular Walk

The Tilberthwaite & Little Langdale Circular Walk is a moderate length walking route in the Lake District that will take you up to an elevated position for some nice views overlooking the Little Langdale Valley. While out on the trail, you will walk along a charming gorge and traverse a stretch of undulating terrain near the rugged peak of Wetherlam, before descending the hillside into the valley. This walk offers a great combination of moderate distance/difficulty with some pleasant views of the English countryside.
Route Description for Tilberthwaite and Little Langdale Circular Walk
Although the Tilberthwaite & Little Langdale Circular Walk climbs uphill along some fairly uneven and rugged terrain, it isn’t as challenging or time consuming as other walks in the area, making it a good route for casual walkers or families looking to hit the trails. There are some areas close by where mining operations have taken place, so make sure to stick to the trail to avoid any issues. Setting out from the car park, make your way along the trail to the southwest, following Yewdale Beck as it winds through the landscape along a dramatic gorge that has been cut into the hillside. After working your way around the foot of the hill, the trail will begin to turn north and climb up the steep slopes. With the rugged peak of Wetherlam on your left, continue along the undulating terrain and enjoy the views of Little Langdale straight ahead, as you begin to descend the hillside toward the valley floor. From here, follow the trail east along Greenburn Beck, bearing right when the trail meets up with the road. Follow this road to the south as it cuts across the picturesque countryside on the return leg of the walk that will bring you back to the car park where you began.Getting to the Tilberthwaite and Little Langdale Circular Walk Trailhead
To reach the car park for the Tilberthwaite and Little Langdale Circular Walk from Coniston, head north on Yewdale Road/A593 for 1.5mi and turn left. Continue on for 1.0mi and you will find the car park on the left.Route Information
