This short loop can be done in either direction, but for the purpose of this guide we chose to walk it in a counterclockwise direction, saving the waterside portion for the end. Setting out from the parking area, you will make your way initially to the southeast, before following the trail as it bends to the northeast. Here, you will be making your way past plenty of picnic areas, which are great if you want to spend some extra time outside after your walk.
Eventually, the trail will bend to the southwest to bring you to the water’s edge. Take your time here as you gaze out across the calm surface of Puddingstone Reservoir, and don’t forget to pop into the rental shop if you want to have some fun paddling or cycling! From here, it is only a short distance to return to the parking lot where you began your walk.
