The Elysian Park West Loop Trail is a perfect family-friendly adventure in L.A. that passes through a quiet and scenic parkland. While out on the trail, you will meander along a fairly level path that passes through open grassy areas and stretches of woodland terrain. Parking at the trailhead is limited, and while there is a parking lot close by to the west, you will still want to arrive early to beat the crowds and secure a space.

Route Description for Elysian Park West Loop Trail
Featuring plenty of recreation space, a relaxing park setting, and wonderful scenery, the Elysium Park West Loop Trail is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to spend some time outdoors in the Los Angeles Area.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way north along the path as it leads towards the tree cover. Here, you will meander through the relaxing atmosphere of the wooded park, following the path as it bends to the southwest through some open, grassy areas.
Eventually, you will arrive at the edge of Academy Road, at which point the trail will turn back to the northeast. You will quickly pass by the Grace E. Simons Lodge, before arriving back at the trailhead where you began. If you want a longer day outdoors, plan ahead so that you can enjoy a peaceful picnic in the park!
