Route Description for Huntington Library and Gardens Trail
The Huntington Library and Gardens Trail is less of a hike and more of a leisurely stroll, but that doesn’t stop it from being a popular outdoor activity in the L.A. area. Featuring a beautiful garden setting that will take hours to fully explore, this is the perfect route to explore if you are after a relaxing excursion with the family.
From the parking lot, you will make your way south along the trail as it leads past the library and towards the Palm Garden. Here, you will make your way west in order to experience the beauty of the Jungle, Subtropical, and Rose gardens, before turning to the north. Take your time through these areas in order to fully appreciate the beauty of the plant life that can be found here.
After passing by the European Art and American Art buildings, the trail will loop around to the south, leading you through the Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden. Now making your way back to the northeast, you will eventually arrive back at the parking area where you began.
