The Mission Point via De Campos Trail is a lovely day-hike near Los Angeles that will take you uphill for scenic views over the San Fernando Valley. While out hiking the trail, you will steadily work your way uphill across the undulating hillside, before eventually arriving at Mission Point for a commanding view of the surrounding landscape. This is definitely a great hike that the entire family can enjoy, just be careful at hotter times of the year, as there is little shade along the trail to protect you from the sun.
Route Description for Mission Point via De Campos Trail
For those adventurers who don’t want to stray too far from the city but still want to set out on a fun hiking excursion, the Mission Point via De Campos Trail is a great option that allows for a commanding view overlooking the valley.
Setting out from the trailhead at the end of Neon Way, you will make your way to the northwest along the Sulphur Springs Fire Road. After a short distance, you will head right at a fork in the path to continue along the Mario De Campos Trail.
Here, you will follow the trail as it steadily climbs upwards across the undulating terrain of the hills, offering a scenic view of the surrounding landscape and a great sightline across the valley behind you. Eventually, you will arrive at the endpoint of the hike at Mission Point. DFrom here, simply turn back and retrace your steps to return to the trailhead.
