Route Description for Lizard’s Mouth Trail
This adventure beckons adventurers of all skill levels and ages. Geological buffs and outdoor enthusiasts alike will enjoy scaling the gigantic outcroppings that adorn the terrain. Note these rocks are made incredibly slippery when wet, so mind your footing and wear footwear with treads! Additionally, this route is exposed to the elements, so pack plenty of water and wear SPF!
The Lizard’s Mouth Hike departs from the trailhead off W Camino Cielo. From here, the Lizard’s Mouth Trail travels southwest through chaparral brush before climbing up the unique boulders. Mind your footing on the uneven terrain and be mindful of sunbathing lizards and snakes. Enjoy the scene of the wildflowers that decorate the encompassing landscape, and you will ultimately reach the overlook of Santa Barbara and the Pacific.
Revel in the beauty of the panoramic vistas of the bustling city and dramatic coastline. When you are through admiring the scenery, retrace your footing back to the trailhead.
