Route Description for Kelly Creek Hike
Sometimes all you need is the time to unplug and unwind, and the Kelly Creek Trail provides the ideal opportunity for relaxation. This meandering trail wanders along the angler abundant creek through brush and grasslands. Note much of this route is exposed to the elements, which boasts great views of Idaho’s forested mountains but also warrants extreme conditions. Wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Embark on your adventure from the Kelly Creek Trailhead. Setting out from here, the hike travels eastwardly along the northern banks of the beautiful creek. Mildly undulating, the dirt path will wind path patches of pines and cedar trees, providing a break from the radiating heat. As you progress into the wilderness, the path will curve southeastwardly through the corridor of forested bluffs. Enjoy the scene and sounds of the running water below and dip your tired feet in the rejuvenating waters to cool off.
After some hiking, you will ultimately reach an intersection with the Cayuse Monroe Trail, which marks the end of your adventure. To return to the trailhead, simply retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
