The Olompali State Park Loop is a short and sweet way to get a taste of the plants and animals that are in the area. Many facts can be learned by exploring all areas of the Olompali Park, including the self-guided interpretive signs which tell stories of the indigenous people who used to live in the area.

Route Description for Olompali State Historical Park Loop
After paying the fee for parking head back towards the iron ranger (this is where you leave the envelope with money to pay the parking fee, it is a small metal pole with a hole to insert your filled-out day registration parking ticket). The Olompali State Park Loop starts near the iron ranger and heads towards a group of buildings.
After you pass the dairy barn you will make a left onto the Lower Mount Burdell Trail.
Continue on the Lower Mount Burdell Trail until you reach a fork in the road, keep right to switch to the Miwok Trail. The Miwok trail will take you back to the dairy barn and from there you can follow Olompali State park Road all the way back to the parking lot.

Getting to the Olompali State Historical Park Loop Trailhead
This trail starts off in the only parking lot inside Olompali State Historic Park. From Novato head North on Redwood Blvd, crossing Atherton Ave. 4.0 km after Atherton Ave follow the road as it curves to the left and then head for the parking lot which is left off the main road.
