Lundbom Lake Loop

The Lundbom Lake Loop is a 15.1 km hiking circuit within the Sugarloaf Mountain Bike Trail Recreation Site that sets out from the edge of the lake and traverses a beautiful grassland landscape filled with rolling hills. With easily traversable terrain, breathtaking scenery, and access to numerous other routes, this is a fantastic hiking option for both casual and experienced hikers alike. This trail is popular with hikers, mountain bike enthusiasts, and horseback riders, so make sure to pay attention when out on the trail and provide enough space for others to pass.

Route Description for Lundbom Lake Loop
More of a scenic nature walk than a true hike, the Lundbom Lake Loop is an amazing way to spend an afternoon outside enjoying the gorgeous landscape of the North Thompson Valley. Setting out from the trailhead next to Lundbom Lake, follow the trail that runs parallel to the road, as you work your way along the northern edge of the scenic lake. Eventually, the trail will turn to the north and take you on a circuit through the grassland landscape that features countless rolling hills and small groves of trees spread throughout. With the vast blue sky above you, make your way around the loop and continue as the trail turns back to the south on the return journey to the trailhead where you began your hike.
Getting to the Lundbom Lake Loop Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Lundbom Lake Loop from Merritt, head east on BC-5A for 12.5 km and turn left onto Lundbom Road. In 4.0 km, you will arrive at the parking area next to the trailhead.
