Adderstone Field Circular Walk

The Adderstone Field Circular Walk is a quick and easy journey in North York Moors National Park that features easy to navigate terrain that is suitable for all ages and skill levels. While out walking the trail, you will traverse an open field and enjoy views of the surrounding woodland terrain, before entering into the forest for a charming walk amongst the trees. This is a great walk if you are just looking to get out for some quick exercise.

Route Description for Adderstone Field Circular Walk
While it doesn’t feature any stunning views or highlights, the Adderstone Field Circular Walk is a great trail for getting some exercise and exploring the outdoors. You will need to mind your dogs in the presence of other walkers, the open fields along this route are great for letting your canine companions run off-leash.
Setting out from the car park, you will head to the northwest to traverse the open, grassy expanse of Adderstone Field, before entering into the thick cover of the forest. As you walk under the shady canopy, take some time to relax amongst the trees and admire the natural beauty of the woodland setting. Once you have completed the loop through the forest, you will once again cross the open field on the return to the car park.
Getting to the Adderstone Field Circular Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Adderstone Field Circular Walk from Thornton-le-Dale, head north on Whitby Gate for 2.3 km and turn right to continue on for 0.8 km. Keep left onto Dalby Forest Drive and follow it for 7.9 km, making a sharp right to continue on the road. After 1.6 km, turn left to enter the car park.
