Route Description for Ballyronan Wood Walk
If you find yourself in Ballyronan, County Londonderry with a spare half hour and are looking to get out and explore the forest, then you should definitely check out the Ballyronan Wood Walk. This brief foray into the woods will also present you with some views of Lough Neagh, making it a dual purpose walk that is easily undertaken.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will head south through the cover of the trees and keep left at the fork. Here, you will make your way along the shores of Lough Neagh and enjoy some spotty views of the lake through the foliage. After keeping left at another fork and reaching the Ballyronan Marina, you can take some time to appreciate the views across the water.
From here, retrace your steps along the trail to return to the fork and head left in order to begin the return leg of the walk through the forest. Eventually, you will arrive back at the original fork in the path, at which point, you will turn left to return to your vehicle.
