The Crawfordsburn and Bangor Walk is a spectacular adventure in County Down, Northern Ireland that takes you along the coast for beautiful views of the water. While out walking the trail, you will walk along Crawfordsburn Beach, before climbing slightly uphill for an elevated view of Belfast Lough as you work towards the terminus of the route in Bangor. This is a fantastic route if you enjoy relaxing strolls with beautiful seaside views.

Route Description for Crawfordsburn and Bangor Walk

If you are looking to experience the beautiful coastal areas of County Down and explore the Bangor Marina, all while on an easy-going path suitable for all ages and skill levels, then you will want to check out the Crawfordsburn and Bangor Walk.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way east across Lorne Burn and walk along the sandy expanse of Crawfordsburn Beach, while taking in some stunning views of Belfast Lough. From here, you will continue on to the east and make your way slightly uphill to walk along the rugged coastal terrain, before skirting around the edge of the Carnalea Golf Club.

After making your way around the scenic Smelthill Bay, you will make the final approach into Bangor, where you can explore the beautiful marina and waterfront attractions that can be found here. After exploring the area, make your way back along the same route to return to the trailhead.

The trailhead for the Crawfordsburn and Bangor Walk can be found approximately 1.6 km north of The Old Inn in Crawfordsburn, at the car park for Crawfordsburn Beach.
