Route Description for Peatlands Park Walk
If you are tired of walking the same old routes through the countryside and have been searching for something a bit different, then you should give the Peatlands Park Walk a try. This relaxing adventure will lead you around a barren, yet beautiful stretch of boggy landscape that will offer a different backdrop from your other trails. Additionally, there are five different trails through the area that will offer a nice bit of variety.
Setting out from the car park and following the red trail markers, you will head through the tree cover to the southwest and cross over a railway line, before turning to the north. Here, you will continue to make your way through the woodland landscape, before exiting the tree cover to walk along the peatlands.
Eventually, the trail will bend to the southeast to provide some nice views of the mixed peatland and woodland landscape, as you make your way towards the southeast corner of the route. Here, you will loop around Derryadd lake, before heading back to the west on the return to the car park where you began.
