Slieve Gullion Circular Walk

The Slieve Gullion Circular Walk is a challenging outdoor excursion that will take you up the mountain for breathtaking views of the surrounding area. While out walking the trail you will make your way through intermittent stretches of forest, before climbing up the boggy mountainside of Slieve Gullion for amazing summit views. This walk is fairly rugged and exposed, so make sure to come prepared with the proper clothing and gear.

Route Description for Slieve Gullion Circular Walk
If you are after a rugged adventure in Northern Ireland that will see you traverse the boggy slopes of a mountain and gain an amazing perspective over the southern part of the country, then look no further than the Slieve Gullion Circular Walk.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the southwest and pass through the woodland expanse of the Slieve Gullion Forest Park, before working your way uphill along the lower slopes of the mountain. Continue along the road as it turns to the northwest, before breaking off onto a footpath that will take you east on a steep ascent of the summit.
Once you are at the summit of Slieve Gullion, you will enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, before heading north to descend the mountainside. Here, you will loop around a forest and head to the southeast in order to arrive back at the trailhead where you began.

The trailhead for the Slieve Gullion Circular Walk can be found at the Slieve Gullion Visitor Centre, just off Wood Road.
