Route Description for Bolam Lake and West Wood Circular Walk
If you have been searching for a short walking route through the forest that is suitable for children and dogs, then look no further than the Bolam Lake and West Wood Circular Walk. This easy trail will allow you to take in the natural beauty of the forest and explore to your heart’s content.
Setting out from the Low Wood House car park, you will head through the forest to the west and skirt around the edge of Bolam Lake. Take some time here to appreciate the intermittent views across the water, before entering into the West Wood portion of the Bolam Country Park.
Here, you will traverse the western portion of the route, passing by mature trees and various species of undergrowth as the trail bends to the east. After passing by the Bolam Lake Visitor Centre, you will make your way south through the forest and along the shores of the lake, continuing on until you arrive back at the car park where you began.
