Route Description for Ellington Woods Walk
If you are partial to taking peaceful riverside strolls through the countryside, then the Ellington Woods Walk in Northumberland will be a great walking route for you to explore. This trail follows closely along the forested banks of the River Lyne, allowing you to relax and reconnect with nature.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the southwest to leave the village behind, passing through a light stretch of forest to eventually cross over the River Lyne. Shortly after this, you will reach the edge of Ashington road and make a sharp left along the trail to continue to the southeast along the edge of a clearing.
After re-entering the wood, you will once again cross over the river and follow its banks to the southeast, taking some time to relax in the tranquil woodland atmosphere. Reaching the southeast point of the route, you will follow the trail as it bends back towards the northwest, eventually exiting the dense cover of the forest on the return leg into the village.
