The Windy Gyle and Mozie Law Walk is a great excursion in Northumberland National Park that will lead you through an undulating stretch of terrain for spectacular views. While out walking the trail, you will traverse a number of rolling hills and valleys in order to reach the summit of Windy Gyle, where you will enjoy sweeping views over the Scotland/England border. Sections of the route are fairly rough and often boggy, so be sure to wear proper walking boots that are preferably waterproof.
Route Description for Windy Gyle and Mozie Law Walk
If you have been searching for a slightly challenging adventure in Northumberland that will lead you across undulating valleys and hills for views overlooking the England/Scotland border, then the Windy Gyle and Mozie Law Walk is the perfect option for you. Setting out from the Wedder Leap car park, you will cross over the River Coquet and head to the northeast in order to traverse several hills overlooking Usway Burn. From here, you will make the steeper climb up to Hazeley Law, before arriving at the England Scotland border. While taking in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape, you will make your way to the southwest for a short distance to summit Windy Gyle, where you will experience some even more incredible views of the undulating hills that spread out as far as the eye can see. Continuing through the hills along the border, you will make a brief detour to reach the summit of Mozie Law, before heading to the southeast on the return leg. Here, you will once again make your way through the rugged hills until you reach the banks of the River Coquet, which you can follow to the southeast to return to the car park.Getting to the Windy Gyle and Mozie Law Walk Trailhead
