The Knox Mountain via Apex Trail is a fantastic hike for those who want to boost their heart rate while admiring classic Okanagan Valley views. You’ll find a network of trails carved into the area, making it easy to veer off the path and create your own adventure. The number of signs dotting the area will prevent you from getting lost!
This hike is a great option for families, as you can turn around whenever you want. Shortly after the trailhead—after some steady incline—you’ll reach the first viewpoint. You can turn around here after admiring the views of the Okanagan Lake and downtown Kelowna. Continue upward for a higher vantage point of the valley below.
Throughout the hike, you’ll notice signs directing you in various directions. Stick to the Apex Trail until you reach the pinnacle. Feel free to turn around the way you came or continue onto Knox Mountain Drive, turning this hike into a loop that will take you back to the parking lot.
Getting to the Knox Mountain via Apex Trail Trailhead
To get to Knox Mountain via Apex Trail from downtown Kelowna, head north on Water Street. When you reach the roundabout, continue straight to stay on Water Street. Water Street will then become Clement Ave. Stay on Clement Ave for a short 99m before turning left on Ellis Street, which turns into Knox Mountain Drive. The parking lot will be on your left.
