Route Description for Garstin Loop Trail
The Garstin Loop Trail is a must-do trail in Palm Springs, especially if you want a moderate route replete with exceptional scenery and vistas. While this adventure is okay to meander year-round, you’ll want to head out early in the morning to beat the heat in the summer! Be sure to bring a lot of water. There’s no protection from the sun at the top, so bring a hat and sunscreen whenever you take on the Garstin Loop Trail!
Setting out from the Garstin Trailhead, you’ll follow the Garstin Trail for about 150 m before veering right to kickstart the circuit portion of this hike. You’ll reach Cahuilla Peak before the halfway point, but continue meandering around for more vistas of Palm Springs and the surrounding scenery!

To get to the start of the Garstin Loop Trail, head to the Garstin Trailhead along Barona Road.
