    This hike leads you to Weaver’s Needle, a giant column of stone perched above Peralta Canyon in the Superstition Wilderness. The hike through Peralta Canyon is always enjoyable with its hoodoos and dramatic rocky scenery, and ending your outbound hike at Weaver’s Needle makes for an even better trip. Expect moderate traffic on this hard hike.

    Route Description for Weaver’s Needle via Peralta Canyon Trail

    This route guide follows Peralta Canyon Trail through the canyon and adds on an extension to Weaver’s Needle. This trail boasts excellent views from multiple points, and you can take in the canyon scenery with its hoodoos and rock formations. Weaver’s Needle is such a prominent feature, it’s fun to hike right up to it on this route.

    This canyon can get very hot. Bring plenty of water with you and avoid hiking during the heat of the day. Remember that dogs are not allowed on this trail.

    From the trailhead, you’ll take the obvious route up into the canyon. Navigation through this part of the hike is simple; continue following the canyon as it climbs steadily. Enjoy the unique rock formations and the hoodoos. Climb through switchbacks and then continue further through the canyon to the junction, which you’ll go straight through to climb to the needle. From here, retrace your steps.
