Route Description for Mahan Plaque Trail
Leading adventurers through a sea of impressive redwoods and lush vegetation, the Mahan Plaque Trail boasts a magical experience. The crowds drawn to the area are a testament to its beauty, so if you are seeking a more secluded adventure, you may want to look elsewhere. Insiders' hint—head out in the early morning for a quieter trek. Note that the terrain often pools after rainfall, so don't wear your new white runners! Lastly, don't forget to take your camera; the scenery is unparalleled.
Setting out from the trailhead, the Mahan Plaque Trail tracks eastward to a junction. Here, veer right, and you will be guided south to the Mahan Plaque Loop. At the next trail junction, you can choose to complete the circuit from either direction, but we prefer to head clockwise, turning left. Now tracking the Mahan Plaque Trail, you will be immersed amongst redwoods looming over 320ft above you. Revel in the enormity of the trees as you make your way along the enchanting trail.
Eventually, you will complete the loop. At this point, head north and retrace your footing along the terrain all the way back to the trailhead.
