Little Mountain Ridge Trail
The Little Mountain Ridge Trail is a beautiful hike on the outskirts of Salt Lake City, Utah. This trail is moderately challenging with undulating, rocky terrain as it follows along the ridge line below Little Mountain. This hike is a fantastic spot to spy forest wildlife such as moose, deer, and elk.

Route Description for Little Mountain Ridge Trail
The Little Mountain Ridge Trail is a gorgeous out-and-back hike in Emigration Canyon. This hike has some steep and loose sections, so be sure to wear proper footwear. In the early and late season, the Little Mountain Ridge Trail can get quite icy and treacherous; if you are hiking at this time of year, be sure to bring along a set of traction devices and/or hiking poles for extra grip and support. The views along the Little Mountain Ridge Trail are absolutely stunning. You will earn sweeping views of Salt Lake City, Emigration Canyon, the Little Dell Reservoir, and the snow-capped Bald Mountain to the east from this hike.
From the trailhead, follow the trail on your right to head northeast along Little Mountain Ridge. Stay right at the first divide and left at the second divide in the trail. When you reach a fork in the trail approximately three miles in, turn around and retrace your footsteps back to the trailhead.

Getting to the Little Mountain Ridge Trail Trailhead
The Little Mountain Ridge Trail begins at the Little Mountain Summit Trailhead on the north side of Emigration Canyon Road.
