The Little Mountain Trail
The Little Mountain Trail is a gorgeous hiking route in the Emigration Canyon Wilderness Area. This trail is home to forest wildlife such as mule deer, songbirds, and forest toads. This route makes a fantastic hiking trail in the summer and a great route for snowshoeing in the winter when the canyon is blanketed in fresh snow.

Route Description for The Little Mountain Trail
The Little Mountain Trail is a beautiful hike in Emigration Canyon, east of Salt Lake City, Utah. This trail is a fantastic spot to see forest flora and fauna. Wildlife such as deer, songbirds, and reptiles are often seen along this trail. If you are lucky enough to see wildlife, do not share your food, and make sure to give them plenty of personal space. This trail affords hikers a gorgeous sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. If you are looking to spend an evening enveloped in the beauty of the Utah landscape, this is the trail for you!
From the trailhead on the north side of Emigration Canyon Road, follow the path northeast and take the first right to hike up to the summit of Little Mountain.
Enjoy the views from the top before turning around and following your footsteps back to the trailhead.
Getting to the The Little Mountain Trail Trailhead
The Little Mountain Trail begins at the Little Mountain Trailhead on the north side of Emigration Canyon Road. Parking can be found on the south side of the road, approximately 8 miles east of Salt Lake City, Utah.
