Route Description for 2W07 Trail from Fisherman’s Group Campground

Featuring a mixture of woodland and rocky terrain set along the two winding creeks, the 2W07 Trail from Fisherman’s Group Campground is a fantastic hiking route that is perfect for a weekend getaway in the California wilderness, thanks largely to the two campgrounds located along the trail.

Setting out from the trailhead at the Fisherman’s Group Campground, you will make your way west through the tree cover, where you will almost immediately cross over the banks of Deep Creek. From here, continue on through the tree cover to the northwest in order to traverse the slightly rocky terrain of the hillside.

After the trail bends to the northeast, you will find yourself gaining some elevation alongside Crab Creek. Here, the shade for the trees will dissipate and you will find yourself climbing uphill along a zig-zagging path with rocky terrain underfoot that will eventually bring you to the endpoint of the route at the Tent Peg Campground.

If you are spending a few days exploring the area, take some time to set up your camp before exploring the area; otherwise, you can take in the beauty of the San Bernardino National Forest landscape as you retrace your steps along the same trail to return to the trailhead where you began.
