The Mojave Forks River Dam Overlook Trail is a fun little adventure within the boundary of San Bernardino National Forest that will see you climb uphill for sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. While out on the trail, you will traverse a forest service and climb uphill until you reach a lookout with some amazing views over a dried up dam and the Mojave River Valley spread out before you. While this route does follow along a road for its duration, there are ticks in the area, so make sure to wear long clothing if you can and check for any of the pesky critters after your hike!

Route Description for Mojave Forks River Dam Overlook Trail
If you are after a not-so-difficult hike in the San Bernardino National Forest that will provide some gorgeous landscape views and only a small amount of uphill hiking, then the Mojave Forks River Dam Overlook Trail will be the ideal route for you.
Setting out from the trailhead along CA-173, you will follow the road as it climbs uphill to the northeast. Here, you will traverse some undulating terrain with scattered tree cover, before arriving at a scenic lookout with views stretching out across the dam and the Mojave River Valley before you.
Take some time here to relax, enjoy the scenic views, and maybe have a snack or a beer, before heading back along the same trail to return to the trailhead where you began your adventure on the Mojave Forks River Dam Overlook Trail.
