Embark on your journey along the Batteries to Bluffs Hike from the Coastal Trailhead off Merchant Road. Setting out from here, wander the Coastal Trail south, past the Golden Gate Overlook, the Battery Godfrey, and the West Battery. Soon after your departure, you will confront an intersection with the Batteries to Bluffs Trail; turn right here. This route will guide you to an epic view of the famous bridge before diverting right down to Marshall Beach. Enjoy the sandy beach, then reconnect with the Batteries to Bluffs Trail, heading south to Battery Crosby.

Hook back onto the Coastal Trail, down to the Battery Chamberlin. Explore the site, then retrace your footing up the Coastal Trail, which you will follow all the way northwardly back to the trailhead.
