    The Ophir Pass to Crystal Lake Hike is a short and exhilarating adventure in the San Juan Mountains that will take you through some rugged terrain to reach a beautiful lake. While out hiking the trail, you will clamber your way up a steep scree slope to quickly arrive at the scenic shores of Crystal Lake set within the beautiful landscape of Ophir Pass. Be sure to wear proper hiking footwear with good support and bring a GPS in order to easily find the trailhead.

    Route Description for Ophir Pass to Crystal Lake Hike

    If you find yourself in this rugged part of Colorado and are after a quick hiking excursion to get your heartrate up, then the Ophir Pass to Crystal Lake Hike is the perfect route to experience the natural beauty of the region.

    Setting out from the trailhead at the edge of Ophir Pass Road, you will first need to locate the trailhead amidst the rocky landscape. The GPS will come in handy here, but after finding the trail it will be relatively easy to follow the rest of the way uphill.

    As you work your way up the rugged scree slope, take some time to appreciate the natural beauty of the mountain landscape surrounding you. In short order, you will arrive at the beautiful shores of Crystal Lake, where you can relax and take in the majesty of the San Juan Mountains, before heading back downhill along the same rocky path.
