A welcome change from the area’s quintessential summit hikes, the Wagon Loop Trail is a wonderful nature walk that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The manageable terrain will even please the most experienced adventurers with the beautiful scenery. Travel through a sea of golden aspens, through pine woodlands, and luxuriant meadows that reveal awe-inspiring views of the encompassing craggy peaks. Note: sections of this path are quite rocky, so be sure to wear sturdy footwear!
Embark on your adventure along the Wagon Loop Hike from the Browns Creek Trailhead. You can complete this trek in either direction, but for the sake of this guide we chose to go clockwise. From the trailhead, turn left and hike briefly along the Browns Creek Road, before turning right onto the Browns Creek Trail. This route will guide you beneath the timberline and near the gurgling waters of Browns Creek. Follow this path and you will eventually intersect with several branches of the creek. Soon, you will meet an intersection and turn right onto the Colorado Trail Segment 14.
As you hike north along this path, be sure to keep an eye out for the mountains peeking through the tree break. Keep right at the next junction and merge onto the Wagon Loop Trail. Follow this path east to return to the trailhead and mark the end of your adventure.
