Discovery Park Loop via Emerson Entrance
The Discovery Park Loop via Emerson Entrance hike is a 4.5 km trail in the Seattle-Tacoma area that is rated as easy. This hike is part of a designated National Recreation Trail that passes through beautiful forest and meadows. It’s popular with runners and walkers and can be enjoyed all year. This trail gets busy, so if you prefer a quieter hike, try visiting early in the morning, later in the afternoon, or midweek.

Route Description for Discovery Park Loop via Emerson Entrance
Discovery Park is a gorgeous recreation park north of Seattle that is frequented by walkers, runners, bikers, and adventurers of all ages. This trail loops through the whole park, giving you the chance to appreciate the scenery from all angles.
Begin from the southern end of the park at the Emerson entrance. You can do this loop either way, but we like counterclockwise so you end off with the views at Lookout Beach (which can be accessed more directly on the Birds Nest and Lookout Beach hike). Take Loop Trail on your right. This trail will take you all the way around the park. Generally, keep to the outside of the loop at all junctions. You don’t need to use any other path to complete this walk, letting you just relax and enjoy the park.
Getting to the Discovery Park Loop via Emerson Entrance Trailhead
The trailhead for Discovery Park Loop via Emerson Entrance trail is on Wisconsin Street in the southern end of the park.
