    Directions to Trailhead

The Courthouse Butte Loop hike takes you all the way around one of Sedona’s recognizable rock formations. Not only can you appreciate the butte from every angle, but you’ll also get to admire little Bell Rock, too. This loop is moderate, well-marked, and full of incredible views. We recommend arriving early if you can.

Route Description for Big Park Loop

Check out the beautiful, imposing Courthouse Butte from the south side on this beautiful loop hike! This trail also shows off Bell Rock, the butte’s smaller companion. This area can get quite busy, but taking Big Park Loop alleviates some of the traffic. This hike is spectacular during golden hour.

The signage in this area is great, but we recommend downloading a GPS track if you’re unfamiliar with the area. There are countless junctions and trails you can roam, so it’s possible to get lost.

You’ll start from the Bell Rock Vista Trailhead. We like to do this hike counterclockwise for the sake of views, so stay right onto Big Park Loop at the T-junction. Stay right onto this trial until the junction with Pine Valley Trail, where you’ll head left. Take Courthouse Butte Loop Trail at the 4-way junction. Stay right along Courthouse butte and then left back onto Big Park Loop. This will take you back to the trailhead.
