Route Description for Oak Creek via Huckaby Trail
The hike to Oak Creek on the Huckaby Trail offers an easy hike that can be enjoyed by all skill levels and ages. This hike is easy to follow, and while it doesn’t provide access to the creek, hiking further along the water will get you there if you want. We recommend planning this hike for the fall when the foliage is changing colors.
The hike begins from the trailhead off Schnebly Hill Road. Head west and then north as the trail hugs a short cliff before descending closer to the creek. You’ll hike down a few lazy switchbacks that follow the contour of the rocky hill you’re on.
The route terminates with a view of the creek. If you want water access, continue along the trail as it follows the water. It eventually heads to the banks of the creek.
