Route Description for Mount Eddy via Parks Creek Hike
Leading hikers through alpine meadows, past shimmering lakes and woodlands up to the summit of Mount Eddy, there is no shortage of scenery to indulge in along this adventure. Offering panoramic views of the mountainous landscape, this route attracts eager explorers year-round. Those who head out in the winter months will require a few extra thermal layers and microspikes or snowshoes. No matter the season, pack plenty of water and charge your camera!
Setting out from the PCT Trailhead, the Mount Eddy via Parks Creek Hike travels southeast. Wandering along the PCT, you will almost immediately be granted impressive views of the neighboring mountains. Gradually climbing through the high-country, you will eventually reach the Deadfall Lakes. Admire the beauty of the crystalline alpine lakes bounded by bluffs and mixed pines. After passing the lakes, you will be guided up a steep hill to an intersection. Here, veer left, and you will be diverted onto the Mount Eddy Trail.
As you ascend the terrain will become rockier as you pass a charming alpine meadow and up to the summit of Mount Eddy. Marvel in the 360-degree panoramic views of Mount Shasta and the Trinity Alps. Appreciate the grandeur of the neighboring mountains, and when you are ready, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
