Route Description for Long Gulch Ridge Loop
Hiking this route makes for an epic outdoor adventure. Wander through the meadowlands and reconnect with nature as you navigate this primitive, backcountry trail. If you don’t shy away from challenges, then you may enjoy this route. Using the trail GPS, you can navigate the secluded, overgrown path. As much of this route is exposed, it is important to wear SPF and a sunhat to avoid overexposure. Additionally, as mountain bikers also use this path, you need to be mindful of passers-by!
Setting out from the trailhead, the Long Gulch Ridge Loop Trail tracks west into the meadowlands. Hiking westwardly, the path will gently undulate, exposing views of the encompassing mountains. Continue hiking, and the route will eventually divert you south, guiding you up a knoll. From here, you will be rewarded with panoramic vistas of the encompassing wilderness; enjoy! Now traveling east, the terrain will remain fairly level.
As you near the trailhead, the path will gradually descend, demanding the navigation of switchbacks. You will soon reach the end of your adventure when you reach the trailhead.
