Route Description for Lyons Reservoir Hike
Escape into the outdoors and reconnect with nature along the Lyons Reservoir Hike. This scenic expedition travels through an enchanting forest before opening to the Lyons Reservoir and Dam. A shared route, this versatile adventure appeals to explorers of all sorts—just be sure to be mindful of passers-by! When heading out in the winter months, be sure to strap on a pair of snowshoes or cross country skis! Note this undulating path can be extremely hot in the summer months, so lather on the sunscreen and pack plenty of water!
Embark on your adventure along the Lyons Reservoir Hike from the trailhead off Confidence-South Fork Road. From here, the Lyons Dam Trail will guide you east along the wide, dirt route. Soon after your departure from the trailhead, you will encounter an intersection; keep left here. Wandering through the mixed forestlands, the undulating path will guide you to yet another intersection, take the middle route, and at the next junction, keep left. From here, it's a straight shot to Lyons Reservoir.
Eventually, you will reach the Lyons Dam. Walk across the dam and explore the shoreline of the shimmering reservoir. If you packed a lunch, this is a great spot to eat it, overlooking the pretty scene. When you are ready, retrace your footing back along the path back to the trailhead.
