Route Description for Usery Mountain Hike
The Usery Mountain Trail takes you through a scenic rocky desert area to the base of Usery Mountain. It’s a very pretty hike that provides just enough of a workout without being too difficult for newer hikers. You can continue up Usery Mountain if you want a bit more of an adventure, but this hike as it is is a rewarding trip.
Bring plenty of water on this trail. It can be very, very hot in this area, and we don’t recommend this hike when the temperatures soar. Come with a hat and sunscreen and hike early in the morning to mitigate the heat. Finally, watch for mountain bikers and share the trail.
From the trailhead, you’ll need to cross the road to the other side. Watch for traffic! When you encounter the fork, keep left, then go straight through the next junction. Begin a consistent but manageable climb up to the base of Usery Mountain. After a final set of switchbacks, the trail terminates at a T-junction. From here, turn back and retrace your steps.
