Duchesne Ridge to Heart Lake
Duchesne Ridge to Heart Lake is a low-traffic 20.0 km long trail in the western Uintas. This trail is primarily used by mountain bikers but can make a great, scenic hiking route as well. Dogs are permitted on this trail but must be kept on leash at all times.

Route Description for Duchesne Ridge to Heart Lake
The hike along Duchesne Ridge to Heart Lake is a low-traffic trail east of Heber City, Utah. This route is shared by hikers, dog-walkers, mountain bikers, and OHV/ATV drivers. When hiking, be sure to keep your eyes and ears open and allow folks on wheels to zip past. With gorgeous views throughout, the Duchesne Ridge to Heart Lake Trail is a beautiful spot to spend the day exploring the Utah wilderness with loved ones.
From the trailhead, follow Forest Road 091 east along Duchesne Ridge. Just under five miles in, the trail will split; take the path on your right to hike the last section of trail southeast to Heart Lake.
Enjoy a rest on the shores of Heart Lake and cool your toes in the pristine alpine water. Then, when you are ready to head home, simply turn around and retrace your steps back to the trailhead where you began.
Getting to the Duchesne Ridge to Heart Lake Trailhead
This hike begins on the east side of Forest Road 054, east of Heber City, Utah.
