    Directions to Trailhead

    The Buckeye Lake Trail is a lovely adventure in Oregon that will lead you through a stretch of forest to a woodland lake. While out on the trail, you will meander past mature trees, hiking parallel to Skimmerhorn Creek before arriving at the serene shores of Buckeye Lake. Several sections of this trail are exposed to the sun, so make sure to bring plenty of water and to wear sunblock.

    Route Description for Buckeye Lake Trail

    For anyone looking to escape and enjoy the natural beauty of a peaceful woodland setting, then the Buckeye Lake Trail is the perfect route to explore.

    From the trailhead on NF-600, you will follow the path as it leads into the forest to the southeast. Here, you will hike parallel to Skimmerhorn Creek, enjoying the forest scenery as you gradually climb uphill.

    Continuing on to the southeast through several junctions, you will eventually arrive at the serene shores of Buckeye Lake, where you can enjoy the views or set up camp if you are planning to spend more time in the area. If not, simply turn back along the trail to return to the trailhead.

    The trailhead for this hike can be found along NF-600, just 0.8 km before the Skimmerhorn Trailhead.
