Steamboat Falls Hike

The Steamboat Falls Hike is a fun little adventure in Umpqua National Forest, Oregon that will lead you down to a scenic waterfall along Steamboat Creek. While out on the trail, you will make your way through the tree cover to the water’s edge, where you will find both the falls and several places to swim. Hikers should take note that there is poison oak in this area, so stick to the trail and wear appropriate clothing.

Route Description for Steamboat Falls Hike
If you are camping at the Steamboat Falls Campground and are after a quick little excursion that the entire family will enjoy, then you should certainly check out the Steamboat Falls Hike. If you plan on swimming in the waters of Steamboat Creek, be sure to bring your swimwear!
Setting out from the trailhead at the campground, you will make your way to the northeast, descending slightly through the forest to quickly arrive at the banks of Steamboat Creek. Here, you will find a few places to swim in the clear waters of the creek, and can also take in the beauty of the Steamboat Falls. After you have finished up, simply follow the same trail back to the campground to wrap up your adventure.
