It’s great in wildflower season but also shines when the autumn colors appear. Expect heavy traffic on this trail, so consider a midweek or early morning visit.

Route Description for Icicle Gorge Trail
Icicle Gorge is a popular pick for hikers of all ages and skill levels. The forest is teeming, the bridges and gorge are beautiful, and the mountains are all around you. The hike is quick with only a few steeper sections. While it’s not stroller friendly, it’s suitable for most. It’s an easy pick for guests of the campgrounds at either end of the loop.
Begin at the trailhead. You can walk this loop either way. Heading west first (counterclockwise) will take you to Rock Island Campground, where you’ll turn around and walk back on the other side of the river. The turnaround point on the other side of the loop is Chatter Creek Campground. Going clockwise follows the same route in reverse.

The trailhead for the Icicle Gorge Trail is in the Icicle Gorge Trailhead parking area off Icicle Road.
