Icicle Ridge Trail
There’s no way around it: Icicle Ridge Trail is a grind. Over the course of seemingly never-ending switchbacks, you’ll climb to a ridgetop with views over the valley below and the forest beyond. This 8.9 km hike sees heavy traffic, so we recommend arriving early. Additionally, try to plan this hike when the fall colors are at their best.

Route Description for Icicle Ridge Trail
Icicle Ridge Trail is a steep, grindy hike that, despite being less than 9.7 km long, will leave you feeling plenty accomplished. It’s a consistent uphill battle, so bring your poles and prepare for a sweaty trip. We love this hike when the fall colors are out.
Begin from the trailhead. The way to the top is simple, if not easy. You’ll follow the 21 switchbacks up, up, and up. There are no intersecting trails to consider, so just keep going. At the top, sit down and soak up the view before it’s time to descend. Poles will be a big help for the return trip.
