Iron Bear via Teanaway Ridge Trail
Iron Bear via Teanaway Ridge Trail is a moderate hike in Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest that sees light traffic. This trail is utilized by hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians, but it’s never too busy. The trail is well maintained and the larches are wonderful in the autumn.

Route Description for Iron Bear via Teanaway Ridge Trail
Hiking to Iron Bear on Teanaway Ridge Trail is about as calm as a summit hike can get. The trail, while used for several different activities, is often very quiet. The forest is beautiful and the route is well maintained. A high clearance vehicle is recommended for the drive to the trailhead.
Beginning from the trailhead, set out along the creek, which you’ll cross before heading up a set of switchbacks. Cross the creek again as the trail curves to the left. Three more crossings follow in fairly short order. Take a sharp turn around the foot of a ridge and start climbing. Traverse to the western ridge and then take two final switchbacks to the top. From here, it’s back down the same way you came.
