Route Description for Merry Creek Trail

Hiking the Merry Creek Trail is a fantastic outdoor experience that the entire family will be sure to love. The trail winds through the beautiful woodland landscape with only small changes in elevation, which makes it easily accessible for almost all hikers. Setting out from the forest service road, the trail heads north through a stretch of forest that sits in between the road and the rushing waters of Merry Creek. As you reach the northernmost part of the trail, you will come to a giant cedar tree that stands proudly and dwarfs its neighbouring counterparts.

After crossing over the creek, continue along the trail as it gently descends through the shady forest. This portion of the hike will have several scenic viewpoints that look out across the valley to the east. After working your way through this stretch, you will once again cross over Merry Creek and meet back up with the main trail. Continue straight to head back through the forest on your return to the trailhead and your parked vehicle.
