Route Description for Glimpse Lake Trail
Revel in motivating views of the Wind River Mountain Range and adorning lakes on the Glimpse Lake Trail. This scenic adventure explores a secluded area of the range; thus, you will likely enjoy tranquility as you wander. Note sections of the path are rocky and steep, so make sure you wear a sturdy pair of footwear. Additionally, the road to the trailhead is rough and rugged. Thus a vehicle with high ground clearance is required. Those with low-clearance vehicles will have to park at the Spring Creek/Willow Lake Junction.
The Glimpse Lake Hike departs from the Summit Lake Trailhead. From here, the path tracks northeastward along a rocky ridge that affords excellent views of Fremont Lake below. Winding through aspen groves interspersed with pine trees, the path will eventually cross into the Bridger Wilderness boundary. Navigating blowdowns and outcroppings, you will ultimately reach Glimpse Lake.
Marvel at the alpine oasis that surrounds you, including Long Lake, Triangle Lake, and Fremont Lake below. When you are through admiring the scenery, head back the way you came to the trailhead.
