Route Description for Great Whernside Walk
The Great Whernside Walk is a beautiful stroll that showcases the incredible views surrounding Whernside Peak. Beginning at the car park, you will follow the marked footpath to Sweet Hill and then make your way onto Summiting Whernside Peak. You will then follow the stream as it makes its way to Dowber Gill and explores the rapids and waterfall. There is a cave system below that you can walk along; however, to stay on this path, continue to follow the markers. Next, you will pass by the hostel called Hag Dyke and then walk along Hooks Bank, which will take you down to Kettlewell and back to where you began, as this is a lollipop walk.

Getting to the Great Whernside Walk Trailhead
To get to the Great Whernside Walk from head northeast on Far Lane toward Middle Lane and turn left. Turn left onto Scabbate Gate and then turn left to stay on Scabbate Gate. In 1.1 km, turn right AND IN 1.3 km, arrive at your destination.
