There are options to extend this trip on connecting trails. The forested trail comes to an unrivalled view of the Banff Townsite below.
Route Description for Stoney Lookout Bike Trail
The Stoney Lookout bike trail is a straightforward trail that is accessible to all abilities. The single-track trail gently winds through the forest to the namesake lookout. From Stoney Lookout, you will be able to see the entirety of the Town of Banff through the clearing. This is a multi-use trail, so watch out for hikers. You’ll turn around at the viewpoint and descend back to the parking lot where you began. There are extensions to the trail that take riders on a more intermediate route with a long descent to the Trans-Canada Highway.Getting to the Stoney Lookout Bike Trail Trailhead
To get to the Stoney Lookout bike trail, you will need to take Mount Norquay Road out of town, crossing over the Trans-Canada Highway. Continue up the tight switchbacks of Mount Norquay Road, passing by the popular lookout point. Pull into the Mount Norquay parking lot and find a trail sign almost immediately to your right. Watch out for Bighorn Sheep on your drive.Route Information
