Arrive in Canazei/Vigo di Fassa
Arrive in the pretty town of Canazei and check into your hotel. Let the sweeping view of the Dolomites ease your mind from any travel-related stress into a more relaxed, outdoorsy mindset.
Selection of walks Val di Fassa
Walk around Sasso Piatto on a scenic route that begins at Col Rodella, where you follow a gravel road for a short distance before joining a panoramic trail leading toward Rifugio Sasso Piatto. In wet weather this section can become muddy and slippery, so take care as you walk while enjoying impressive views of the rugged rocks of Sasso Piatto. Continue along another panoramic path toward Langkofelhütte, where the landscape opens between two towering peaks—Sasso Piatto on your right and Sasso Lungo on your left—creating a striking, almost lunar setting. At Rifugio Toni Demetz, descend steeply for about 550 meters to the valley station of the Sasso Lungo lift, or take the lift down if your legs feel tired or your knees need a break. From the valley station, follow mostly gravel roads as you make your way back to Col Rodella, completing a long but beautiful walk surrounded by dramatic alpine scenery.
Distance: 6 hours, 16 km, 810 m ascent, 850 m descent
Grepa Valley walk takes you through one of the lesser-known and peaceful side valleys of Val di Fassa, where grazing animals, unspoiled nature, and quiet landscapes define the experience. Starting from the Ciampac basin at 2,160 meters, the route climbs toward Pian de Sele at 2,346 meters, where a small plateau offers sweeping views over the wild Val de Grepa below. Continuing with views of the magnificent Sassolungo Group, the trail leads toward Pian de Poze before descending into the lush valley. Along the way, pass through green meadows dotted with traditional wooden huts and cross peaceful pastures where cows and horses typically graze during the summer months, creating a tranquil alpine setting.
Distance: 4 hours, 10 km, 260 m ascent, 960 m descent
Catinaccio walk follows a scenic circular route around the impressive Catinaccio Group, leading along mountain paths and gravel roads past Malga Vael and Rifugio Roda di Vael before climbing toward the Zigolade Pass. From the pass, the trail descends while passing beneath the jagged peaks of Forcella di Davoi and Cima Catinaccio. Continuing onward, you pass Rifugio Preuss and Gardeccia, where you may wish to pause for a local snack before completing the loop and returning to your starting point in Catinaccio.
Distance: 6 hours, 14 km, 775 m ascent, 780 m descent
Via dal Pan Walk follows the famous Via del Pan, the “bread path,” a scenic trail running along the southern side of the ridge. As you walk, enjoy sweeping views of the Marmolada glacier and the impressive peaks of the Sella mountain group, making this route a memorable and picturesque alpine experience.
Distance: 5.5 hours, 16 km, 350 m ascent, 1230 m descent
Walk from Passo della Sella to Passo Gardena
From Col Rodella, follow gravel roads and mountain paths with the steep peaks of Sasso Piatto and Sasso Lungo rising on your left. The route leads past Sella Pass before continuing with the impressive Sella Group on your right, its dramatic rock formations becoming more striking as you approach. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views ahead across the surrounding Dolomite landscape. The walk ends at Grödner Joch, where you can take a bus down to Corvara.
Corvara round tour
Today you follow a scenic circular route starting in Corvara, climbing through alpine meadows and larch forests toward the Pralongià plateau, where wide views of the Dolomites open up around you. Continue toward Piz Bioch, an ideal place for a relaxing scenic break, before completing the loop as the trail descends back to Corvara.
Selection of Walks from Passo Gardena or Passo Pordoi to Passo Campolongo
From Gardena Pass, the trail climbs steadily until you are walking almost directly beneath the impressive Sella Group. In Val de Mesdì, you cross a small river before beginning a descent that can be quite steep in places. Once in the valley, follow a gravel road toward Crep de Sela, where a steep path leads up to Ristorante Boè. From here, continue along a beautiful trail that winds through spectacular rock formations. After reaching the Kaiserhütte, simply follow the gravel road until you arrive at Passo Campolongo.
Distance: 6 hours, 12.5 km, 755 m ascent, 1020 m descent
From Pordoi Pass, follow a breathtaking high-alpine route toward Passo Campolongo that winds through dramatic Dolomite landscapes. The trail passes beneath towering peaks and across rolling alpine meadows while offering magnificent views of the Sella Group and the surrounding valleys, combining rugged mountain scenery with peaceful alpine charm.
Distance: 5 hours, 10 km, 510 m ascent, 880 m descent
