Today, arrive in the charming town of Spello. If time allows, take a leisurely stroll through its picturesque streets and admire the sunset from the town's terrace. Spello is a hidden gem in Umbria, blending rich history with natural beauty. The cobblestone streets and flower-adorned stone walls transport you to a place where time seems to stand still.
Start the day with a challenging ascent to the quaint village of Collepino, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves. Cycle through undulating terrain around Mt. Subasio before arriving in Assisi, where the impressive fortress and historical charm create an unforgettable experience.
Begin with a gentle descent through olive groves and quiet roads in the Valle d’Umbria. Follow the river to the village of Torgiano, known for its wine and olive oil. Visit the wine museum and enjoy a tasting before cycling back to Assisi, passing sunlit sunflower fields along the way.
Cycle through olive groves and descend towards the medieval town of Cannara. After a brief stop, continue along flat roads by the Topino River, leading to Bevagna. Explore the historic streets, ancient city walls, and gates, with views of Montefalco on the horizon, setting the stage for tomorrow's adventure.
Follow the Strada del Sagrantino, famous for its local wines. The scenic uphill ride leads to Montefalco, known as the "balcony of Umbria" for its panoramic views of the countryside. Savor the region’s renowned wines, including Sagrantino di Montefalco and Rosso di Montefalco.
